Matt Van Cleave

Executive VP of Golf

Matt Van Cleave

Matt Van Cleave serves as Executive Vice President of Golf at FCA, a role in which he provides leadership and support for golf ministry across the organization. In this position, Matt partners with staff nationwide to strengthen and expand golf as a platform for fellowship, donor engagement, and ministry, helping to advance FCA’s mission of leading every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Matt’s connection to FCA began long before joining staff, starting in his high school days in Maryville, Missouri, and continuing through his time as a professional golfer on the mini tours. Whether through student huddles or tour Bible studies, God used FCA to encourage and equip Matt in his faith. For the past four years, he has faithfully served on FCA staff, now coming full circle to lead in the very ministry that shaped his spiritual journey.

Matt shares a deep passion for what God is doing through the game of golf, seeing it as a powerful tool to connect people to Christ and strengthen FCA’s mission. He is committed to equipping and supporting staff, volunteers, and participants at every level of golf ministry.

Matt and his wife, Sarah, met at Kansas State, where Sarah played on the women’s golf team. She currently serves as a high school counselor in Mesa, Arizona. Together, they have two children, Max and Madeline. As a family, they enjoy hiking, traveling, cheering for their kids’ sports teams, and barbecuing with family and friends.
